Jackson's Flower Walk 2019

(Looking for photos of last year’s flower walk? Click here.)

Jackson loved flower walks around the neighborhood. He loved to smell the flowers, and blow on dandelion "puff balls" to see the seeds blow away. As September approaches, we want to come together and remember him as we do a walk of our own in his honor.

Jackson's Flower Walk (September 14, 2019)

Please check back here as the date approaches for more information.

If you're in Seattle: Please join us for a group walk around Green Lake Park. We'll meet between 10-10:30am, on the southern side of the lake, just east of the Green Lake Aqua Theater. We’ll take a group picture at 10:30, and then walk clockwise around the lake, a 2.8-mile walk which should take about 2 hours.

We’ll meet just-east of the Aqua Theater (“the big gray stadium thing where the crew team practices”) — we’ll have a large SUDC banner to help you find the spot.

If you're out-of-town: No worries! You can still go on a Flower Walk in your own neighborhood. You can still order a shirt and take a photo next to flowers — we would love for you to share a photo with us for this website.

Flower Walk Shirts

We commissioned San Francisco-based artist Hannah Wednesday (she did many of our Jackson tattoos!) to design a logo for these shirts. All proceeds (about $10 per shirt) will go to the SUDC Foundation and RAICES (see below). On the back of the shirt, the SUDC logo will help raise awareness for SUDC.

Please feel free to reuse your shirt from last year, and consider donating directly to these charities in Jackson’s memory via our GoFundMe.

The shirts are available in men's, women's, and kid's sizes, and this year, we’ve added crewnecks, tanktops, and hoodies. They will be available for order until 8pm August 25.

Supporting the SUDC Foundation & RAICES Texas

This year, we’re fundraising for two charities: the SUDC Foundation, and RAICES Texas. You can donate directly via our GoFundMe campaign.

The SUDC Foundation is an organization dedicated to research, advocacy, and support for families affected by Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood. To-date, we've raised more than $12,000 for this wonderful organization that we’d be lost without.

RAICES (The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees. We've selected RAICES this year because of their efforts to support refugee and immigrant families, in direct action against America's concentration camps.
